ARTEK is a university-based research and education institute founded in 2000 as a joint venture between the Technical University of Denmark (DTU) and Tech College Greenland (KTI).
ARTEK is partly located in Sisimiut, Greenland and partly in Lyngby, Denmark. ARTEK conducts research, innovation and research-based consultancy in arctic technology. The main fields of research cover planning, sustainability, Arctic environmental engineering, constructions and physical environment and buildings & energy in the Arctic. ARTEK has an active role in teaching and research about sustainable building, energy and environment appropriate for Greenland/the Arctic.
